1. What is BetterActorShots.com?

BetterActorShots.com provide an online service that helps serious-minded actors and actresses to get great headshots if they don’t yet have any or to update their headshots or get new ones. We’ve created a network of hundreds of professional photographers across North America – all hand-picked for their skill, their talent and their ability to create photos for you that reflects you at your finest.

2. Can a good photo really make a difference?

You bet! Having a good headshot is your passport to getting parts.

3. How long does the session take?

The entire photo shoot only takes about 45-90 minutes and includes one to three outfit changes ("looks"). You pick the time and you pick the place. Please visit our packages page for more information.

4. How much does it cost?

BetterActorShots’s photographers have all agreed to reduce their usual rates. Instead of charging the full fee of around $400 to $500, all our photographers charge less. For an additional fee of just $15, you can even ask the photographer to come to you.

5. What do I get for my money?

You’ll get a great set of new headshots that will open doors for you. Depending on your package you will get:

• 45-90 minute photo shoot
• 1-3 looks
• 6-24 web-ready images (to use only on the web)
• A CD with all your images in high resolution (for prints)

6. When do I pay?

Payment must be paid when making the appointment. You can pay online or by phone. To pay by phone, call us at 1-888-282-9777 ext. 0.

7. Who will take my pictures?

We've scoured North America for the very best, professional digital headshot photographers. Fewer than one in 50 photographers have the skill and experience needed to shoot the kind of photos that you need and we demand. Your photographs will be taken by a talented photographer in your area. Click here to choose a photographer.

8. Where are the photographs taken?

The session may take place at the photographer's studio or at a pre-arranged location near you. We understand that most people have busy schedules though, so for a small additional charge you can have the photographer come to you.

9. What should I wear for my photo shoot?

10. What about hair and makeup?

Most photographers will be able supply hair and makeup services for a separate charge if you wish. Please ask your photographer about costs and availability when he or she calls to confirm your appointment.

11. Can I change the date and time of my photo session?

Of course. Please contact your photographer directly if you need to change your appointment. If for some reason you can't reach your photographer, please contact us or call us at 1-888-282-9777 ex.0 (toll free) and we'll make the change for you.

12. What happens if I don't like my photos?

If you are unhappy with your photos, we can give you a free re-shoot. Any complaint should be communicated in writing to within 14 days after the photo shoot. No re-shoots will be entertained for any reason after this period.

13. Will my photos be re-touched or digitally enhanced?

Only if we feel that the lighting, shadows, contrast or color in your photos need to be enhanced or modified to cast you in a "better light". We also offer photo retouching services. Note: we retouch only your web-ready images, we don't retouch your high-resolution images. If you need to retouch your high resolution images, please contact your photographer directly.

14. Do I have to pay for this digital enhancement if it is required?

No. Reasonable digital enhancement is free.

16. Do you do company or personal website photography?

Yes, if your photo shoot is for your corporate or personal website or business. BetteBusinessShots.com is a great way to get professional shots for your website at a very reasonable cost. We also offer group rates if you need employee or team photos. You can discuss any special requirements with the photographer when he or she calls to confirm your appointment.

17. How can I express my opinion about the quality of the work I received?

When you login to the site to collect your web-ready images, you will be asked to rate the photographer and your experience. Your feedback is very important to us.

18. Do you take nude photos?

No, that's not our thing. We have a strict policy against nude or semi-nude photographs. All photographs must remain tasteful—which means you must remain fully clothed for the duration of your photo shoot.

19. Do I get prints or high resolution images?

High resolution images a part of the package. You get 6-24 photos ready to use online (web ready for electronic submittals) plus all your photos in hi resolution image for prints. You can order prints directly from your photographer at an additional charge.
